Spotnik Technologies · Urban digital twins

Digital twins of real cities, live in the browser.

A photoreal 3D twin engine and a no-code builder for scenarios, studies and stakeholder stories.

Twin Engine

A browser-native 3D engine. It streams photoreal 3D Tiles, terrain and imagery under a physically based sky, then overlays roads, traffic and data layers built from GIS sources. It embeds in any web product.

  • 3D Tiles 1.1
  • Quantized-mesh terrain
  • GeoJSON
  • Vector tiles
  • Embeddable in any web app
Twin Builder

A no-code platform for composing scenes on a photoreal globe. Bring in GIS and BIM data, model what-if scenarios with an AI copilot, and share guided presentations by link.

  • ArcGIS compatible
  • IFC / BIM
  • GeoJSON, CSV, XLSX, KML, DXF
  • Scenario graph
  • AI copilot
Why Spotnik

Test the decision in the twin before you build it in the city.

Spotnik Technologies builds precise 3D models of real cities and uses environmental, operational and social data to simulate the impact of planning decisions, so cities can grow smarter and more sustainably.

One shared, data-rich view of the city for planners, operators and the people who sign off.

Based in DIFC, Dubai
Demo twins built for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Paris
Runs in a standard browser, no installs
  1. See what is happening

Live and historical data on one photoreal map, so planners and decision makers understand how the city's systems actually behave.

    Twin Engine · data visualisation
  2. Benchmark city assets

Accurate 3D city models with buildings, infrastructure and BIM in context, to compare districts, sites and assets on equal terms.

  3. Simulate before you commit

Run what-if scenarios for development, mobility and heat resilience, and compare their KPIs before anything is built.

Twin Engine

The real world, rendered at city scale.

Terrain, sky, weather, light and infrastructure, drawn from real geodata and streamed tile by tile in a standard browser.

Procedural infrastructure

Roads draped on terrain with real junctions and deck heights, metro lines with running trains, aircraft, water and vegetation. Every layer is generated procedurally from map data, not hand-modelled.

Atmosphere and weather

Physically based sky and haze, volumetric clouds that drift with real wind, and six weather presets.

Terrain

Mountains, wadis and coastline at true elevation, with satellite imagery streamed as you fly.

Day to night

Time of day moves the sun and the light. After dusk, a procedural facade shader lights streamed buildings window by window, so footprint data reads as a living skyline.

3D assets modelled by AI, with a human in the loop.

An AI agent models buildings, vehicles and other 3D assets from map footprints and reference photos. People review every asset in context and steer it with feedback before it joins the twin.

  1. GenerateThe agent builds each asset in a 3D modelling tool, working through a prioritised list.
  2. GeoreferenceEach model gets its coordinates, ground height and the building footprint it replaces.
  3. Human reviewReviewers inspect each asset in the twin under different light, with people for scale, and send feedback the agent acts on.
  4. Approve and mergeOnly approved assets ship, as GLB and 3D Tiles, replacing plain extruded blocks.

Every shape of data gets the view it deserves.

Lines, density, locations, scores and events each have their own visual language in the engine, layered over the photoreal city and readable by day or night.

More in the engine

The same layer system also draws arcs, extrusions and area fills. New visualisation types plug into the same system.

Flying arcs

For origin to destination data. Example: commuter flows between districts as daily trips. Also fits freight lanes and migration.

3D extrusions

For a value per footprint or area. Example: building energy use intensity, with height taken from the building shell.

Demo values are modelled scenario estimates placed on real map geometry for Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Every layer shows its source and confidence on screen.

Twin Builder

Ask for a heat-resilience study in plain language.

The builder copilot turns a request like "plant trees in this neighbourhood" into a located, analysed and visualised study on the 3D globe.

  1. LocateFinds the named place and its boundary.
  2. Draw and frameDraws the study area and flies the camera to it.
  3. AnalyseReads the streets, buildings and open space inside the area and lays out trees, shade canopies or qanat channels.
  4. CompareReports indicative cooling, CO₂ and canopy KPIs per scenario.

Compose the scene, no code required.

Place 3D assets, BIM models and photogrammetry on the globe, link them to scenario logic, and start new projects from ready-made templates.

A building replacement study, end to end

Swap an existing building for a proposed tower on Palm Jumeirah, inspect the BIM model, set it in photogrammetry context and wire the scenario graph that recalculates the KPIs.

Drag in 3D assets

Drop cranes, vehicles and equipment from the asset library onto a port, then move, rotate and scale them in place.

Start from a template

Ports, mobility, livability and redevelopment scenes come prebuilt with layers, scenarios and tours.

Bring the data you already have.

GIS files, enterprise map services and building models land in the same 3D context, on the map platform your organisation already uses.

Import GIS data

Upload GeoJSON, CSV, XLSX, KML or DXF. The builder validates the file, detects its coordinate system and reprojects it onto the globe.

Style layers by meaning

Categorical colours for zones and land use, heatmaps for density, clusters for many points, extrusions and proportional symbols for quantities, flows for movement.

Runs on ArcGIS too

The same scene can run inside the ArcGIS ecosystem, with your existing scene layers and feature services, for organisations already on Esri.

Inspect BIM in the browser

Open IFC2x3 and IFC4 models without desktop software, browse the element tree and read property sets and quantities.

Model the what-if, then tell the story.

Scenarios recalculate KPIs, styles and layers from a few inputs, and guided tours carry the result to decision makers.

Scenario graph editor

Connect sliders and toggles to KPI, styling and spatial nodes. In the port demo, Normal, Peak and Emergency scenarios update berth utilisation and emissions live.

Mobility study

Paris 2026 to 2030: cycling network, NO₂ exposure and metro works across three time scenarios.

Livability benchmark

Dubai districts ranked by a composite score with twelve sub-scores, to prioritise investment and services.

One platform, from engine to decision.

Twin Engine renders the city. Twin Builder turns it into scenarios, studies and stories that decision makers can act on.
